Entrepreneurs in Motion Tend to Stay in Motion
What Newton’s 1st Law can teach us about entrepreneurism and getting shit done.
It seems to me there are two types of entrepreneurs: (1) the type that can’t stop and (2) the type that can’t start. Newton’s 1st Law of Motion explains why:
“An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion”
The type that can’t stop have discovered the power of movement and action, and they are addicted to the flow. They are in motion, so they stay in motion.
The type that can’t start are paralyzed by fear, but only because of inaction. They are at rest, so they stay at rest.
Fear is a roadblock on the way to success; a roadblock that can easily slow someone down, but has no power over someone who is moving with energy and force. We distract ourselves from our fear with “planning and thinking”, but rarely “doing”.
For me, fear and inaction is related to lack of physical motion. I find that when I move — physically move — I have no fear of execution; my mental road-blocks dissolve and I’m much more effective at getting. shit. done.
